InStyle recently did a feature on Pippa Middleton’s best looks. And I was impressed! I think she’d love to shop at Embellish. Here are a few of my favorite looks along with ways to achieve her look with items from Embellish!

I love how she’s taking her cream lace dress into fall with a black blazer, tights and boots.

Pippa does a great job of putting her leather jackets to good use! Notice how she wears them over everything from fun cocktail styles to flirty day dresses and leggings and boots.

Hello all! I am so glad to be back to a regular posting schedule…and share my latest shoot with you! I’m sure you know by now that this is my favorite dress of the summer (you’ve seen it here and here - it was a big hit on my D.C. trip!) Dear Creatures has quickly become one of my favorite lines – their styles are sophisticated and easy to wear.

The bow is such a nice surprise on the back of this dress. Can a detail be any more fun than that? Lucky for you we still have a couple of these left at Embellish – stop by to give it a try or email me if you need it shipped!

Style // POC

This Darling dress from Embellish is perfect. It seems to be appropriate for most occasions AND I have the option to have some fun accessorizing it to dress it down. I typically wear it with the wedges I wore here, but for this post I wanted to take Brad Gorseski’s advice and add a Pop of Color (POC)! I get so many compliments on these coral flats (now sold out online), and would you believe they are from Old Navy? Such a great bargain buy!

Style + Savor: Cinco de Mayo

Happy (almost) Cinco de Mayo, friends! What a fun holiday to kick-off summer party season! Ever since I saw this recipe on designlovefest (One of my fave blogs…and I took blogshop with Bri. She’s a treat!) I’ve wanted to give it a try – it sounds so yummy and refreshing! I think it would be the perfect cocktail to go with this dress to celerbate Cinco de Mayo, don’t you?

Style // Green With Envy

I am just going to come right out and say it: today is my 25th birthday. This is a scary one for me, you guys. Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE birthdays and all the celebrations that go with it. But I have always been a little scared of getting older. The idea of getting wrinkles scares me. What scares me more is the fact that 25 makes it seem like I am a real adult. This might seems strange since I already have my dream career and couldn’t be happier with where my life is at. But is still seems weird! So today I guess you could say at first I was feeling a little “green with envy” for my younger years. But then I thought about how awesome my life is now and I wouldn’t want to be any other age or in any other stage of my life. I’m having too much fun to want to change a thing! And I think that’s pretty awesome.

As you’ve seen here, I’m a big fan of colored pants. I got these green beauties at Old Navy – can you believe that? They’ve really been doing some great things recently. This denim shirt from Forever 21 is my go-to piece. It just goes with everything! All this simple outfit needed was some arm candy and a clutch. Out the door and ready to take on the day. My BIRTHDAY!

style + savor: fruit pizza

Fruit pizza has been a longtime favorite spring and summer dessert treat. And how cute are they in individual portions? Whoever thought to do that is a genius. I’m excited for summer barbecues so I can wear a casual summer outfit with fun sandals and bring these treats to share!

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 cup unsweetened pineapple juice

1/4 cup water

2 tablespoons lemon juice

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar

1-3/4 cups whipped topping

12 sugar cookies (3 inches)

1 cup fresh blueberries

1 cup chopped peeled kiwifruit

1/2 cup chopped fresh strawberries

Directions

For glaze, in a small saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, pineapple juice, water and lemon juice until smooth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Transfer to a small bowl; refrigerate until cooled but not set.

In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and confectioners’ sugar until smooth; fold in whipped topping. Spread over tops of cookies. Arrange fruit on top; drizzle with glaze. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until chilled. Yield: 1 dozen.

style // crisp stripes

photos by JamesAnn Photography

Sometimes my favorite outfits end up being those that I create with items that have been in my closet for awhile. Re-vamping what you already have can be a fun little challenge! Plus, when you’re like me and have classic items scattered throughout your closet, it is easy to mix and match old with new. As you’ve learned here and here, I’m a fan of having classic pieces (think Michael Kors statement watch) mixed with trendier pieces in my wardrobe!

Style + Savor: Blueberry Ginger Mojito

A friend recently found a ton of cute things from Piperlime so I decided to head on over and check out their newbies. Of course I fell in love with this shirtdress – it’s the perfect easy-breezy spring piece (plus it is striped, duh) that is perfect for everyday and going out with friends. The colors are so fun!

The colors in this lovely dress made me crave a yummy spring cocktail. A mojito with flair seemed like just the choice. Here’s a recipe for a Blueberry Ginger Mojito from Tyler Florence of the Food Network (I have a tiny crush on him…and Bobby Flay. What is it about a man that cooks?)

Ingredients

For the Ginger simple syrup:

For the Mojito:

Directions

For the Ginger simple syrup:

Peel and grate the ginger and add it, together with the sugar and cold water, to a saucepan. Bring it to the boil and stir until the sugar dissolves. Cover and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain and cool in the refrigerator when done.

For the Mojito:

Add the blueberries, lime wedges and fresh mint leaves to the glass (or pitcher). Muddle with a wooden spoon so the blueberries are broken and the mint and lime release their juices and flavor. If assembling pitchers you can cover them at this stage and leave in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

When ready to serve, add the simple syrup, vodka and top off with club soda. Give it a quick stir and then pour into glasses with ice cubes. Garnish with a handful of fresh blueberries and a sprig of mint.

The recipe outlined below is for 2 tall glasses, but you can use the ratio to make pitchers (depending on how big your pitcher is double or quadruple the recipe).

Combine the blueberries, mint leaves and lime wedges in the pitcher and muddle it in there with the back of a wooden spoon. When you are ready to serve add the vodka, ginger simple syrup and club soda. Stir and pour into glasses with a couple of ice cubes. Garnish each glass with some fresh blueberries and a sprig of fresh mint. Sip and enjoy!
